                  2012 Garden Tours

with Janine Wookey at Gardens Etc

After three successful years organising tours on behalf of the National Gardens Scheme, we have put together some new and original tours for 2012 and hope we have come up with something different enough to please you.

                  • The walking tours through the hidden gardens in the City of London were popular and two more have been planned for 2012- same area but some diffrent spaces. Interesting lunch spot beside water. Dates are  May 26th and July 8th.
                  • The  trip to see the three bluebell woods  is going to be April 25th. Let's  hope the bluebells are prepared!
                  • The boat trip up The Thames is on for this year and we are going further upstream, which will be fun but makes it tricky with the depth of water and the tides, so could be even more fun. The date is May 28th. The day is Monday. It will involve us getting off the boat and walking a bit along the river's edge. Which is pretty anyway! But be prepared.
                  • We will be heading out to Kent on July 5th for some truly splendid gardens in the Stour valley. It is so beautiful there and the views are to die for! Lunch will be in a great pub in the prettiest of villages!
                  • A new idea: The law and their lands - and their gardens ( 24th May) known as the Inns of Court. It is walking tour as they are all so close together, but we do get to have lunch in a truly amazing Medievel Banqueting Hall.
                  • Another new idea: a tour on 7th August to see three West London gardens at their sizzling  best in late summer. Think tropical. Think big leaves. Think wow!

                  • Go east - and find a new world of gardenson May 25th, from ancient in the City  to brand new at the Olympics  and then to traditional and flower packed. East London will amaze you!

                  • And especially for romantics - three delightful gardens that are simply glorious on Tuesday May 29th .

                  the NGS Chairman

It gives me great pleasure to commend these exceptional tours to you. Not only will they offer an inspiring insight
into many diverse gardens, they will also provide the opportunity to meet and talk to the gardeners and enjoy
a special lunch in the company of like-minded people.
By booking one or more of these tours, you will also be helping to raise funds for the wonderful causes supported
                  by the National Gardens Scheme.
